Gategaver

Norway: Street Gifts (2013-2017)

In this ' Christmas Calendar ' inspired project I took on my an organizational curator role in addition to an artist's role. I collected various art donated by various artists to hang up in the streets between 1. and 24. December, urging that anyone could "steal" with a free Christmas gift. This was initiated as a response to animal art that is inaccessible to the public, and a desire to move art from the gallery to the street. Social media and a partnership with traditional media (ex NRK) was an important part of the process. The project went from a local project in Bergen to a national project with international artists who participated.
