Ice Dimond

I invited the street artists AFK to Re-do a previous work, but in a new setting near the mountain Fløya in Tromsø.

It was a proven and planned action to do the work up there for us without permission, to spark debate about the public space and what street art is.

This stencil contains several popular aspects of aesthetics for most people, and a topic currently relevant to the climate debate and perhaps more appropriate to the arctic part of Norway.

I painted a mural, which was to be a link between the stencil, raw concrete and the power house that stood next to it, to provide better flow to the whole wall.

The painting works with the arctic climate that is around the area and in the theme. I think that time and climate will break down the work over the years that come. This will only strengthen the work’s theme, and even better if some house owners want to make interventions or take it away.
